In a celebration marking the 250th anniversary of the Revolution in South Carolina, We will explore the Palmetto state’s critical role in America’s
War for Independence with three intriguing lectures:
Fete Lafayette – We will explore the ties that Georgetown has to the marquis de Lafayette, who landed in Georgetown on June 14, 1777, on his first trip to America, and visited the state extensively to mark the Revolution’s 50th anniversary during his final tour of the United States in March 1825.
Southern Heroines of the Revolution – Highlighting the surprising and exciting stories of several of the Revolution’s southern heroines.
The Saga and Legacy of Andrew Wallace – An examination of Wallace’s claimed service in every major campaign from 1776 to the war’s end – from Canada to South Carolina!
