Job Title:
Programs Coordinator
Coordinate the activities of the South Carolina American Revolution Sestercentennial Commission (SC250). Develops and enhances positive relationships both internally and externally, especially with local 250 committees, governmental and other NGOs. This will include coordinating with each entity to ensure questions and attention is given to appropriate SC250 member. Assist in recruiting and coordination volunteers. Assist in the management of the Commission’s finances, budgets, audits, A/Rs and A/ps and fiscal relationship with our agency partners. Manage the Commission’s events and representing the Commission at events. Planning and coordination of programs and their activities including keeping the programs on schedule and functioning smoothly. Coordinate program communications. Assist in managing staff work assignments, workload, and work schedule to include providing support for the Director, Grants Manager, Site Project Manager and Commission activities and committees. Work with staff and Ad Agency for marketing, branding, social activities that promote both the SC250 and programs. Daily administrative tasks will include filing, correspondence, documentation, minute taking, FIOA compliance and Commission meeting preparations.
This role requires excellent time management and communication skills, as the position will collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver results on deadlines.
Ultimately, the SC250 Coordinator’s duties are to ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget and meet high quality standards with a positive attitude for all stakeholders
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Associates Degree or higher. Ability to communicate in a clear and effective manner both orally and in writing. Ability to articulate the reasons and goals for the SC 250 Commission and its plans and programs; edit and publish quarterly newsletter; monitor and respond to on-line content. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle in South Carolina.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven work experience as a Coordinator or similar role
- Experience in project management, from conception to delivery
- An ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules and step-by-step action plans
- Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management
- Strong client-facing and teamwork skills
- Hands-on experience with program and teamwork flow programs (Trello, Click up, Hive)
Additional Comments
Position requires travel around the state to make presentations and to attend selected events such as conventions and general meetings. Overnight stays are generally not necessary. Must have or be able to obtain a valid S.C. driver’s license.

Job Summary:
The Grants Assistant provides support to the Grant Manager specifically for managing and awarding outgoing grant funding. This role focuses on assisting in the review, coordination, and administration of grant awards to external recipients. The ideal candidate will help ensure compliance with grant guidelines, assist in managing the evaluation process, and maintain detailed records of awarded grants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Grant Application Intake and Review: Assist in the intake process for grant applications from potential recipients by reviewing submitted proposals, supporting documentation, and other required materials. Track applications and ensure all necessary documentation is received before proceeding to the evaluation phase. Help maintain an organized database of incoming applications and assist in preparing materials for grant review committees.
- Evaluation and Awarding Support: Provide administrative support to the Grant Manager and review committees during the evaluation process. Assist in organizing review meetings, scheduling interviews or presentations from applicants, and compiling evaluation scores or comments. Help prepare award letters, agreements, and other communication to successful grant applicants.
- Documentation and Compliance: Ensure that all necessary documentation for awarded grants is accurately maintained, including agreements, reports, and any correspondence with grantees. Assist in tracking deadlines for awarded grants, such as reporting and performance requirements. Work with the Grant Manager to ensure that grantees comply with the terms and conditions of their awards including peer review of materials produced with grant funding.
- Grant Award Monitoring: Assist in monitoring the progress of projects funded by outgoing grants to ensure adherence to timelines and deliverables. Help track performance metrics and other requirements specified in the grant agreements. Coordinate with grantees to gather periodic updates on funded projects.
- Communication and Coordination: Assist in serving as an additional point of contact for grant applicants and recipients, answering questions. Work with internal teams, including finance to ensure that grant agreements are compliant with internal policies and funding guidelines. Assist in organizing meetings, events, or workshops for grantees.
- Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the Grant Manager, including scheduling, filing, answering emails, and tracking grant-related deadlines. Maintain an organized digital filing system for all awarded grants, ensuring that all required documents (contracts, performance reports, etc.) are up to date and easily accessible.
- Process Improvement: Assist in identifying opportunities for improving the grant management process, particularly in the evaluation and awarding phases. Stay updated on best practices in grant awarding and management and suggest process enhancements where applicable.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree in business administration, nonprofit management, nonprofit or for profit granting, public administration, or a related field is preferred.
Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience in grant administration, program coordination, nonprofit work, or administrative support is preferred.
Skills:
– Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
– Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
– Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience with database or grant management systems also preferred.
– Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
– Ability to work as a team member and cross collaborate with other staff.
Work Environment:
This is primarily an office-based position with occasional opportunities for remote work. Some travel may be required for meetings or events related to grantees.
Compensation:
This is a contract position with hourly wages commensurate with experience. The position is expected to require approximately 25 hours per week.
