Ceremony for Revolutionary War Bull Town Fort Marker Unveiling

We are excited to announce our first Abbeville Co REV 250 historical marker dedication and unveiling service for Bull Town Fort on Sunday Dec 7th at 2 PM. It is not the first Revolutionary War marker in Abbeville Co. The service will be held at the Rocky River Presbyterian Church 2140 Monterey Rd Abbeville (off Hwy 71 or Old Calhoun Falls Hwy depending on where you are coming from). This church got its start in Bull Town Fort and the present church is very close to the old fort site. We are grateful for there support as it will be placed in the churchyard.

This will be a rather formal service. Should we have inclement weather, it will be held inside the church except for the marker unveiling. It has been an almost 3 year process from start to finish including grant funding, research, approval by SC Dept. of Archives & History and the Sewah Foundry to make it. We could not give more notice than 5 weeks because we were recently surprised that this marker came 6 months earlier than projected to us by Sewah Foundries.
