Francis Marion Interpretive Center Grand Opening

April 19, 2025

| 10:00 am - 12:30 pm

Georgetown County

120 Broad Street
Georgetown, SC 29440

Join historian Carin Bloom as she sets the stage for the ribbon cutting of the Francis Marion Interpretive Center, making history come alive as she portrays Mrs. Catharine Greene, wife of General Nathanael Greene.

The date was carefully selected to coincide with the 250th anniversary of the beginning of the American Revolutionary War at the Battles of Lexington and Concord.

Little did Mrs. Greene know then that her husband would eventually command the successful Southern Campaign and help turn the tide of the war for American independence right here in South Carolina, and at last, win the war with the help of another unknown General Francis Marion.

You are guaranteed to become immersed in the world of the American Revolutionary War as witnessed and lived vicariously by Catharine Greene.

Ribbon cutting to follow the performance. Colonial refreshments will be served in the interval between the two events.
