The American Heritage Festival

This event is held on Graham's Historic Farm, where Francis Marion and his men staged attacks against the British and brought British prisoners in 1780-1781. Colonial period presenters, vendors, and speakers will be present for the public to learn about this important time during the American Revolution in which Marion and his men changed the course of the war from losing to winning. The 2nd South Carolina, Mecklenburg Militia, Marion's Brigade, 33rd Royal of Foot, and 23rd Royal Fusiliers will be encamped throughout the farm and will provide live interpretive presentations. Battle enactments will be on held on Saturday and Sunday. Dance to the Celtic music of The Steel City Rover out of Toronto, Canada. Speakers will discuss how Marion used his network of support in the Pee Dee area in order to provide his men with a place to resupply, acquire rations, get horses &equipment, find refuge, and learn the movements of the British.

The Scottish Highland Games will return for the second year showcasing the athletic prowess of this Gaelic community that supported Francis Marion. Scottish food and vendors will be available.

The festival will also host a French and Indian war reenactment called Braddock's Defeat on Saturday and Sunday. Some officer's in the ike Francis Marion used Guerrilla war tactics they learned from this war and applied those tactics to the Southern Campaign which took the British off guard and helped turn the tide of the War of Independence.

WWII encampments and skirmish reeanactments will be offered in a separate area of the farm. Present will be units of the Allied Powers and Axis Powers. See Jeeps, artillery, guard gates, motorcycles, troop movers, weapons depots, and an American spy plane. General George Patton's grandson will be on hand to speak.

Representatives of the Georgetown Museum and Francis Marion Interpretive Center will be on hand, as well as Francis Marion artifacts displayed by the AHF.

Live entertainment, food trucks, beer & wine will be available.
