The Elizabeth Hutchinson Jackson DAR Chapter and Lancaster County Historical Commission invite the community to launch the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution in Lancaster County with a series of engaging events and activities. Leading our celebration is the American Revolution Experience, a compelling exhibit made possible through the partnership of the American Battlefield Trust and the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.
The exhibit will be on display at the Lancaster County Historic Robert Mills Courthouse, located at 102 Main Street, Lancaster, SC, from Saturday, January 11, to Saturday, January 27, 2025. Admission is FREE, but hours of operation vary. For the most up-to-date viewing hours, please visit the Elizabeth Hutchinson Jackson DAR Facebook page, American Battlefield Trust Page, and the Lancaster County Historic Courthouse webpage.
About the Exhibit
How were the lives of ordinary people affected by the events of the American Revolutionary War? As tensions mounted across the Thirteen Colonies, the entire Revolutionary Generation was faced with a difficult choice: to pledge loyalty to the Patriot cause and the prospect of a new nation, or remain loyal to the King as subjects of the British Empire. How would you choose?
This fascinating exhibit includes 12 informative panels and three interactive kiosks, offering visitors a deep dive into the lives of key Revolutionary War figures, the events that shaped the era, and the historical locations connected to these stories.
Local History Exhibit
In addition to the American Revolution Experience, the Lancaster County History Museum features displays showcasing the county’s rich history. This exhibit is a must-see for those interested in local heritage and the Revolutionary War’s impact on the area.
