“Celebrating 250 Years of the Declaration of Independence”

Event is Newberry College’s premier 250 event celebrating the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Commemoration includes color guard ceremonial posting and retiring of the US and SC flags, Student singing the National Anthem, presentations by a variety of college faculty and elected officials, reading of the Declaration of Independence and Gettysburg Address by selected Newberry College students, and recognition of the student patriotic essay competition winner.
