Edward E. Poliakoff was born and raised in Abbeville, South Carolina, near Salvador’s Cornacre. A retired partner in Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough, LLP, he practiced law in Columbia, South Carolina, for 50 years. He is a graduate of Harvard College and Georgetown University Law Center, a past president of the Jewish Historical Society of South Carolina. Articles written by Ed have been published in the magazine of the Jewish Historical Society of South Carolina —including his article on Francis Salvador—, and in the journal of the International Map Collectors Society. Ed’s activities include historical research, collecting antique South Carolina maps and serving as trustee of the Dr. Samuel Poliakoff Collection of Western Art at Abbeville Public Library.
