Ladies of Tea Table Rock -A Teatime Talk

A Revolutionary Tale of Newberry, SC

The theme is “The Ladies of Tea Table Rock” — the legend about a group of Newberry ladies who served tea to British officers and slowed their journey to a battle in the Upcountry. Among the officers was Banastre Tarleton.

Guest Speaker: Earnie Shealy-Historian, Folklorist & Life-long Newberrian, will give a 15min talk while guests enjoy a delicious English Tea Service, including Soup, salad, tea sandwiches, scones, tea bread, devonshire cream & lemon curd, petite desserts. 2 selected hot/cold teas will be served.

Come as you are or dressed in historical period dress! Tea hats & fascinators are available for the event, on loan.
