Step back in time to 1776 and spend the morning at The Museum doing crafts, participating in demonstrations, playing games, exploring history in the new SC250 exhibit “Road to Revolution in the Upstate”. You can also enjoy a reading of “Celebrate America! The People Declare Independence” by the Author – Karin Petit and meet Louie, the time traveling dog who stars in the story!
This is a free family friendly event.

ENJOY HANDS-ON COLONIAL FUN!

Hear a reading of “Celebrate America! The People Declare Independence” by the Author – Karin Petit and meet Louie, the cute dog who stars in the story!

Some featured activities include:
Make a Tricorn Hat
Dress in Period costumes
See a spinning wheel in action and hear how homespun cloth was made.
Sign the Declaration of Independence – just like the Founding Fathers!
Explore local history in the new SC250 exhibit “Road to Revolution in the Upstate”
Make traditional pressed cookies.
Watch a movie on our Founding Fathers.

Children will receive patriotic treat bags and light refreshments will be served.
