William Richardson Davie 275th Birthday

Celebrate the 275th birthday of William Richardson Davie, Revolutionary War officer, statesman, and one of the region’s most notable historical figures. This special commemorative event will feature presentations exploring Davie’s life and legacy, including his military excursions along present-day Flat Rock Road during the American Revolution, Tivoli, the significance of the Davie Coat of Arms, and the William Richardson Davie Memorial Enclosure at Old Waxhaw Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The program will conclude with birthday cake in honor of Davie’s 275th birthday.

Following the program, a wreath-laying ceremony will be held at Old Waxhaw Presbyterian Church Cemetery honoring William Richardson Davie’s enduring contributions to the American Revolution and early American history.
