William Moultrie and Sgt. William Jasper emerged from the battle, as well as state icons including the palmetto tree and blue flag with the white crescent. But do South Carolinians today know much about this pivotal engagement? To elevate interest and awareness of this battle on the eve of its 250th anniversary, South Carolina 250 has commissioned a new film designed to improve our appreciation of this event that we commemorate each year as Carolina Day.
