Join us September 25–26, 2026, for the Catawba and Cherokee American Revolution Symposium, a special two-day program exploring Native American experiences, perspectives, and communities during the American Revolution.
The symposium brings together an outstanding group of scholars and presenters for discussions on Catawba and Cherokee diplomacy, conflict, archaeology, movement, communities, women, and their roles in the American Revolution.
Friday, September 25 | Native American Studies Center, 119 S. Main Street, Lancaster
Friday’s events are FREE and open to the public and include:
- 12:00–1:00 p.m. — Lunch & Learn: Dr. Joshua Catalano, Unearthing Fort Rutledge
- 5:00–7:30 p.m. — Welcome Reception, hosted by Nutramax Laboratories
- 6:00–6:30 p.m. — Jonah Trimnal: Mapping Catawba Movement During the American Revolution
Saturday, September 26 | Bradley Building at USC Lancaster, 476 Hubbard Drive
- 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
The full-day symposium will feature leading scholars and historians examining the Revolutionary era from a variety of Native American perspectives.
