Historic Cocktail and Spirits Series: Madeira Wine Workshop with Love & Bunches

Guests are invited to join the Charleston Museum for a cocktail and spirits series to explore a range of spirits and wine. Join Museum Curators and Brittany Olson, certified Sommelier and Founder of Love & Bunches and The Hidden House, for a special workshop on Madeira wine.
George Washington’s favorite beverage, Madeira, was often referred to as the “immortal wine,” and was very popular in Charleston during the 18th and 19th centuries. This fortified wine was well-suited for our port city, both in location and high temperatures. As you learn more about Madeira’s influence in Charleston history, Sommelier Brittany Olson will take you on a guided, specially designed tasting journey while you sample a variety of Madeira wines. Enhance your experience with an exclusive look at items from the Museum’s History and Archaeology collections that are not exhibited for the public.
Tickets are all-inclusive and include 3 wine tastings, a full glass of wine, light bites, a Curator talk with access to special Museum collection items, and education from a Sommelier.
Love & Bunches is a vintage horse trailer turned elegant mobile wine bar. The mobile wine bar is female, sommelier owned and operated. They currently service the Lowcountry for all of life’s special events.
Nestled just off bustling King Street, The Hidden House is your invitation to slow down and savor. By day, it’s a warm and welcoming coffee and tea lounge, a quiet corner for reflection or conversation. As the sun sets, it gracefully shifts into a cozy wine bar – curated by a sommelier’s touch and grounded in the art of hospitality. Whether you’re beginning your morning or unwinding at twilight, The Hidden House is your escape in the heart of Charleston.
