DESCRIPTION:“The American Revolution in South Carolina: Blacks & Whites\, Women & Men”\nThe Horry County Museum presents a program in collaboration with Coastal Carolina University and the South Carolina 250th Commission on Saturday\, April 18th\, 2026 at 1 PM.\nWoody Holton\, professor of history at the University of South Carolina\, will speak on the American Revolution in South Carolina. Holton is the author of five books\, including Abigail Adams (2009)\, which won the Bancroft Prize. His recent book\, Liberty is Sweet: The Hidden History of the American Revolution shows how America’s founders were influenced by often overlooked Americans at the time\, including women\, Native Americans\, African Americans\, and religious dissenters.\nThe program is free to the public and will be held in the Museum’s McCown Auditorium located at 805 Main Street\, Conway\, SC 29526.
