Reading With A Ranger – Our Flag

Celebrate Flag Day at Andrew Jackson State Park. Learn about the history of the American Flag. Our Park Ranger will be reading a special children’s book about the flag. Make a patriotic craft. Design your own flag. All ages are invited to attend this program, however it is best suited for elementary school children.

The program takes place in the Meeting House at 2 p.m. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Preregistration is required. Please register by Saturday, June 13. Please call the park or visit this website Event Registration | South Carolina State Parks to register. When registering, please use the number of children registering without including the adults who plan to participate. This program costs $2.

Andrew Jackson State Park preserves and protects the site of Andrew Jackson’s boyhood home in South Carolina. Among its attractions are a museum about Andrew Jackson’s boyhood, a reproduction schoolhouse, trails, a campground, and a fishing lake. The park is nine miles north of Lancaster on U.S. 521 at 196 Andrew Jackson Park Road. Admission to the park is $3 for adults; $1.50 for SC seniors/disabled/active duty National Guard; $1 for youth ages 6-15; ages 5 & younger are free.
